Forked
Rattling off again
shivering against its fellows,
a leaning claw.
Arthritic metal fingers
knotted from overuse,
That brittle trident,
a monkey’s paw.
A daily spade
sterling-faced, forlorn.
A love child;
Spoon and Spear reborn.
